ARDSI has been awarded the "Risk Management System Certificate" for its institutional risk management activities, after sucessfully going through an audit by the Turkish Standards Institution (TSI), in scope of the IPA project titled "Technical Assistance for Strengthening the Implementing Capacity of Risk Management and Control Activities of ARDSI".
"ISO 31000 Risk Management System Certificate" verifies that ARDSI carries out its risk management activities in compliance with the ISO 31000 Standard.
Speaking at the ceremony on the TSI premises, TSI Chairman Mahmut Sami Şahin stated that the Institution was founded in 1960 and operates in Türkiye with an extensive organizational structure.
Mr. Şahin highlighted the enormous contribution of TSI to international competitiveness of the other public authorities, primarily the national industrial organizations, and went on to say:
“We have eliminated our external dependence thanks to our test infrastructure. ISO 31000 is an international standard in the field of risk management. It is a standard designed to identify, classify and respond to the risk factors that might arise within the context of institutional operations. The opportunites come along with the risks. As the opportunities are evaluated, the cited risks are considered employing the best instruments to expose them so that they are positioned properly within a specific framework. ARDSI is an institution providing financial support. They have made tremendous contribution to Türkiye with their rural development support channeled through ARDSI's international contacts. In that sense, we hope this certificate will contribute greatly to the institutional capacity of ARDSI. We extend our gratitude for working with us in this activity. Our teams have gone through a long period of work with your technical teams. ARDSI has been entitled to the "ISO 31000 Risk Management System Certificate" for your successful work. It is my sincere wish that the certificate will prove beneficial for you as well as setting an example of best practice for others.”
ARDSI President Dr. Antalyalı: “We are in cooperation with the TSI since 2016"
ARDSI President Dr. Ahmet Antalyalı stated that ARDSI was founded in 2007 and has provided grant support from the EU financial assistance funds to the investors in Türkiye ever since.
Highlighting that ARDSI has so far supported implementation of 25 thousand projects with an approximate total of € 3,5 billion, Dr. Ahmet Antalyalı noted that “These projects provide critical contribution to production, employment and export. We have significant operations to promote national development. It is utmost significance for us to crown these efforts with such cooperation. We enjoy the great joy of becoming the first public authority to earn this certificate. We have been in cooperation with the TSI from 2016 now on. Before this, we have worked with TSI for the project consultancy sector. 850 project consultancy firms have been certified by TSI so far. Our cooperation has resulted in standardization of the sector, as well.”
Dr. Antalyalı pointed out to the significant capacity and qualified staff potential of TSI.
He expressed ARDSI's intention of benefitting from this capacity to the maximum level and reinstated that cooperation between the two institutions would be intensified.
ARDSI is the first public institution to be awarded "ISO 31000 Risk Management System Certificate".
TSI Chairman Şahin stated that ARDSI is the the first public institution to be awarded this certificate and presented the "ISO 31000 Risk Management System Certificate" to the President Dr. Antalyalı praising the pioneering role undertaken by ARDSI in this field.
