The French Development Agency (AFD) Türkiye Director Mr. Tanguy Denieul and Senior Project Manager Ms. Zeren Erik Yaşar visited ARDSI accompanied by the Agricultural Advisor Mr. François Viel and Agricultural Attaché Mr. Bozkurt Özserezli from the French Embassy.
ARDSI Predisent Mr. Ahmet Antalyalı welcomed the visitors at the meeting attended by the ARDSI management and experts.
A detailed presentation was made to the delegation of AFD and French Embassy about the background and operation of the Institution.
AFD officials shared information about the history of the French Development Agency and its activities in Türkiye.
Speaking at the meeting, President Dr. Ahmet Antalyalı noted that "ARDSI has provided grant support to the enrepreneurs investing in the rural areas in 42 provinces since 2011 and has been planning to continue its activities in 81 provinces in the period ahead". The President went on to say that "they aspire to support the entrepreneurs in the rural areas with different projects besides the IPARD funds building on the know how and human resources potential of the Institution".
The French Development Agency (AFD) Türkiye Director Mr. Tanguy Denieul stated "The Agency founded in 1941 has been implementing joint projects with the Public Institutions, Municipalities and State Banks since 2004". On the other hand, "the agricultural sector was a focal point for them previously and they have been planning to run agricultural projects in Türkiye in the period ahead focusing particularly on biodiversity and climate change".
Mr. François Viel, the Agricultural Advisor from the French Embassy, expressed his appreciation for ARDSI's future plans to operate in 81 provinces.
The meeting was closed expressing wishes to start technical discussions between the sides, identify the common grounds of operation and cooperate for implementing projects jointly.
