IPARD III PROGRAMME PUBLICITY AND INFORMATION MEETING

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Prof. Dr. Ahmet Gümen reported that 862 million liras of grant has been made available in support of around 500 enterprises under the IPARD Programme and went on to say additional grant support has been provided for women and entrepreneurs under 40 years of age.

Deputy Minister Gümen uttered in his address at "IPARD III Programme Publicity and Information Meeting" organized in Burdur that it would be their priority to promote rural development and prevent rural depopulation.

Pointing out to the fact that each investment in the rural is also an investment in the future, Prof Dr. Gümen stated that "It is well-known that every inch of land matters. The growing population of the world and urbanization have gradually increased pressure on the arable lands of agriculture. We have come to understand the vitality of food in the recent years when we have faced the aggravating threats of climate change, natural disasters, wars and pandemics. Regardles of the level of development, all states have now acknowledged agriculture and water as not only a strategic player but also a concern of national security. The IPARD Programme has been applicable since 2011 in Türkiye. We have grants to support livestock, processing of meat, milk and aquaculture products, plant production, beekeeping and machinery. 862 million liras of grant has been made available in support of around 500 enterprises under the IPARD Programme. Additional grant support has been provided for women and entrepreneurs under 40 years of age”

₺863 millions of grant support to approximately 500 projects in Burdur

ARDSI President Dr. Ahmet Antalyalı highlighted that European quality production has been achieved with the investments realized by ARDSI on IPARD Programme grants.

In parallel with the policies set by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the grant support would be continued under the IPARD III Programme in the new period blending an agricultural policy enabling productivity, formal production, sustainability and high-quality production with the EU rural development approach.

President Antalyalı reported that ARDSI supported around 500 projects in Burdur with a grant total of 863 million liras and that the endeavors would be intensified using every means available to achieve the goals of waste disposal, use of renewable energy resources, environment-friendly investments and promoting employment.

The program was attended by the General Director of Agricultural Reform Dr. Osman Yıldız, the General Director of Food and Control Ersin Dilber, the General Director of Livestock Salih Çelik, the protocol members and citizens of the province.

Deputy Minister Mr. Gümen ve Mr. Antalyalı visited the Burdur Provincial Coordination Unit of ARDSI and had meetings with the management and personnel.

The preparations and targets for the IPARD III programme planned to take start in 2024 were discussed at the meeting.
